Bernard
Frank "Bud" Pacy
83,
a resident of the Pennsylvania Soldiers' & Sailors'
Home, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, after a lengthy illness.
He was
born Feb. 6, 1920,
in Erie, son of the late Louis A. and Jennie Minadeo
Pacy.
A member of the Musicians Union of Erie for 65
years, he served as president from 1971 until retiring
with emeritus status in 2002. He performed with the
Morey Brennan and Ted Weems orchestras through the 1940s
and
early 1950s. Locally, he performed at the Fulton Club
and Moose Lodge.
He also worked as a glazier for the
Erie School District. He served in the U.S. Army during
World War II and performed with its band under the
direction of Erie native Oscar Nutter. Discharged after
four years,
he attained the rank of sergeant. He enjoyed his pet
dog.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Terra Malone
Pacy; two sons, Bernard
E. "Bud" Pacy Jr. and Aaron T. Pacy of Erie; a brother, Edward Pacy
and his wife, Betty, of Erie; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Brugger Home for Funerals,
1595 W. 38th St. A service will follow. Burial will be private.
